I wanted to build a company that would save lives…. This is a pretty big statement, and I wholeheartedly believe it to be realistic one. But, perhaps we can put this another way.
“WellBe Solutions wants to help as many people as possible be healthy, energetic and productive.”
After 20 years in the health and wellness business, from where I’m standing, it’s quite simple. If your company relies on people, then the health of those people is vital to the success of your company, and of course, vice-versa..
The statistics are dire, and this countries downward spiral in health is fast becoming a financial crisis. By 2030, 42% of this country will suffer from obesity, and by 2050, 1/3 of the population will suffer from diabetes. Aside from the impact on an employees lifestyle, the loss in productivity and dramatic rise in chronic illness will have a profound effect on this countries economy.
We simply cannot afford to sit and do nothing!
Although the cost of health insurance is rising at an average of 9% every year, by managing the health of your employees, you can manage your health care costs and productivity. You can impact your bottom line.
So, how should we tackle this? It may seem like an impossible task, but we have a plan.
By building a program on a foundation of leadership, by educating your employees on how to make smart lifestyle choices, by connecting them around healthy issues, and by mining the untapped power already existing within your company of peer to peer support, friendly competition and “team,” we can build a healthy workplace culture.
We are a dedicated and “walk the talk” bunch here at WellBe. We feel we have put together the most effective and practical solutions to making significant change in your employees health. From our ground breaking WellBe Community platform, our HRA and Health Education Curriculum, to our on site Nutrition & Canteen Audits, Sprint Workshops and Facility Management…., we feel we can actually save lives.
